Features of UCI Spark
Dashboard
Updated weekly, the personalized dashboard provides students with data-driven recommendations tailored to their unique needs. It highlights relevant campus support services and opportunities, helping students stay informed and engaged.
Up to 4 resources are displayed on the dashboard, along with quick links to view course-specific analytics and access the full resource library. At the request of students, a tour feature is available to guide new users through the dashboard's functionalities.
Course Analytics
The course analytics feature offers students insights into their learning activities. Purpose-built charts and visualizations help students understand their activity and make informed decisions about how to optimize their study time.
Students can view analytics for each of their enrolled courses, allowing them to track their engagement and performance. This data-driven approach empowers students to take control of their learning journey.
Spark Library
The Spark Library brings together categorized resources from all across the UCI campus to support student success. Students can easily browse and search for resources that align with their needs and interests.
The library features a "For You" section that curates resources based on individual student profiles, ensuring that each student receives relevant recommendations tailored to their unique circumstances.
Goal Setting
As part of the Course Analytics feature, students can define their goals and indicate their preparedness for each course at the start of the term. This self-assessment will be used in the future to tailor recommendations and resources to better support student success. For now, we're gathering data to inform those future enhancements.
Quarterly Questionnaire
Optionally, students can complete a brief questionnaire each quarter to provide feedback on their experiences and needs. This information helps us understand how to improve Spark and better support student success.
For Non-Students
Members of the UCI community who are not students, such as faculty and staff, can also access Spark to explore resources and support services available on campus. While they won't have personalized dashboards or course analytics, they can still benefit from the curated resources in the Spark Library.
